An Award in Rome

An Award in Rome

I have just learned I received the Award for Best First Time Director at the Rome International Movie Awards, for The Blinding Sea. This is a lovely award for me to receive, and is the 26th for the film so far.

I would love to have gone to Rome in person, to pick up this award, but that kind of travel will have to wait for another day!

Ideally, I would have gone to Rome to attend the festival in person, but hearing the news virtually comes as a terrific honour.

Thanks to Marie Frenette for her fantastic singing on the sound track, her wise counsel and behind-the-scenes work on many creative aspects of the film.

Thanks also to Guillaume Falardeau, my valiant video editor and friend through thick and thin. Without the years he put into this project, it would never have seen the light of day.

I hope 2022 turns out to be a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year for anyone reading this web post.

Take care and stay safe!
